Australian Music
As one of Australia’s leading and most performed composers, Leek has worked with many of the leading musicians and composers of this country. He has an intimate knowlege of the workings and trends in Australian music over the past 50 years and, in his own inimitable style, is able to conduct workshops about Australian music effectively and infectiously to any group. He speaks about the music, often from personal experience, and offers insights into composers, time, places and the repertoire that have set the markers of the history of contemporary Australian music. Leek has also written kits and materials about Australian music and Australian choral music for use in schools and universities, Musica Viva, the ABC, and for other organisations and publications.
Stephen Leek has a history of communicating effectively with all levels of the community. Workshops on Australian Music can be tailored to any needs in primary, secondary and tertiary education, in the community, or indeed as a stimulus for the general public. Fees are competitive and timing can be flexible to suit your needs and requirements.
